Two Austin residents arrested during a recent drug bust (Sept. 16) made their first court appearance Friday in Mower County District Court. Mallory Jean Kurth, 33, and Jose David Talamantes, 40, are facing feleony drug charges, including possessing methamphetamine in a school zone, in connection to a probation check at a home on Fourth Avenue Northwest, where police found methamphetamine, drug paraphenelia, and more than $4,000 in cash. Both suspects were being held at the Mower County Jail. Their next court date is set for Sept. 28.
