After hours long police standoff 21-year-old Alber Lea man taken into custody

(WCCO) – After an hours long police standoff in which three people were shot, including an officer, a 21-year-old man was taken into custody Sunday morning in Albert Lea. Deputies were responding to a report that fireworks or gunshots had been heard at an apartment complex on 4th Avenue South and when they arrived, a suspect opened fire striking one of the officers, along with a 52-year-old and 38-year-old man, one of whom was on his way to work, as reported online. Police identified the shooter as, Devin Matthew Weiland of Albert Lea.
