A study on Albert Lea’s water and sewer funds is recommending rate hikes in 2021. Officials said with multiple improvement projects planned in the near future these funds will be needed to cover the costs, and even higher increases are possible. The city has almost $87.8 million in projects planned over the next 10 years for water production and treatment, sewer treatment and lift stations, a news release states.
