Gov. Walz puts new COVID restrictions in place ahead of holidays

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Just ahead of Thanksgiving gatherings, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz plans to announce a new round of COVID-19 restrictions Wednesday. In a call with reporters, the governor said some of the activities Minnesotans love would be put on a “pause” as the state tries to ease the strain on hospitals, with nearly 6,000 new COVID-19 cases reported in Minnesota on Tuesday, and 26 more deaths. Minnesota currently ranks seventh in the country for new cases per capita.
