Tips to prevent cooking fires which flare up this time of year

As you plan for your Thanksgiving feast local fire officials have some tips to prevent cooking fires, which flare up this time of year. If you’re deep frying your bird, officials say, keep away from buildings and other combustible items, and never leave the fryer unattended. When cooking in the kitchen make sure your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector are working. Cooking is the leading cause of fires, according to the National Fire Association, escpecially during the holidays.
