A fire at Campus View Apartments Tuesday morning has been blamed on an electrical malfunciton.
The Austin Fire Department said when crews arrived black smoke was coming from the roof of the building, and residents had to be evacuated. Austin Fire Chief Jim McCoy reported that the fire was electrical in nature and likely started in a bathroom exhaust fan. There were no injuries reported.
