$3.98 million in grants from the Department of Employment and Economic Development will go to three southern Minnesota projects. The DEED’s grants are for the cleanup of contaminated sites approved for redevelopment, including in the city of Rochester, Albert Lea, and Mankato ( man-KAY-toh). DEED says the more than $300 million in private investments will create 178 jobs. The projects are expected to add 1,485 housing units, including nearly 400 affordable housing units.
