Tax incentives proposed to lure more housing construction outside the Twin Cities

The Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities is asking state lawmakers to encourage more housing construction and renovation in blighted areas outside the Twin Cities. In Austin in south-central Minnesota City Administrator Craig Clark is asking legislators to offer tax incentives to make it easier to rehabilitate dilapidated homes. The coalition proposes new grants to help Greater Minnesota cities plus state funding for necessary infrastructure for new housing developments.
