Austin woman found cooking during home burglary makes first appearance in Mower County District Court

An Austin woman found cooking during a home burglary at a Northeast Austin residence made her first appearance Friday in Mower County District Court. Joanna Gisselle Maldonado, 20, has been charged with felony first-degree burglary in connection to the March 15 incident at a Fifth Avenue Northeast house where the homeowner said he found Maldonado in his residence cooking at his stove along with a masked man. Both left when he called the police. Maldonado’s next court date is set for April 8.
