Luckily no one was injured when canoe capsized on Lake Marquette

With boating season upon us, authorities are urging people to exercise caution on the lakes following a sinking incident in northern Minnesota Friday afternoon. According to a release, a canoe capsized on Lake Marquette. All three people aboard made it back to shore safely, the sheriff says. The trio was taken to an area medical center to be treated for hypothermia. The sheriff’s office is warning people about the potential hazards of recently iced-out lakes, and urges water enthusiasts to visit the Minnesota DNR page for boat safety tips.
