(ABC 6 News) – Freeborn County has been deemed a COVID hotspot. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the COVID-19 transmission rate in Freeborn County is “high,” the highest level of transmission.

The City of Albert Lea has announced that starting Monday, August 16th, masks are required regardless of vaccination status in all City of Albert Lea facilities until further notice. Albert Lea joins the cities of Austin and Rochester in implementing mask requirements within the past week.
