MOWER COUNTY, Minn. – A chain-reaction crash in Austin left a Texas teen with life-threatening injuries. The Minnesota State Patrol said three vehicles were involved in the crash Thursday at Interstate-90 and Highway 218 S., when a vehicle attempted to merge into the right lane and a second car braked to avoid a collision, before a semi rear-ended that vehicle. A 13-year-old girl from Edinburg, Texas, was hospitalized, and an 11-year-old child was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The wreck remains under investigation.
