The Albert Lea Police Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office are joining law enforcement agencies statewide in extra seat belt patrols in an effort to help save lives. Minnesota law states that drivers and passengers must wear seat belts or be in the correct child restraint. If you are unbuckled, expect to be stopped. Officers will be in full force looking for seatbelt violators through Sept. 30.
