Albert Lea woman accused of running ‘meth mail’ ring accepts plea deal

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – An Albert Lea woman accused of running a ‘meth mail’ operation has accepted a plea deal in the 2020 case. Marivel Ramos, 46, is facing multiple charges for her role in a conspiracy where she sent packages full of cash to California and received packages full of meth, according to court documents.
Investigators say three of the packages sent to Marivel contined teddy bears filled with more than 10 pounds of methamphetamine. Ramos is scheduled to be sentenced on January 10 in Freeborn County District Court.
