UPDATE – (ABC 6 News) – The man who admitted to stealing a truck and was shot at by a property owner in Freeborn County is now facing charges. 38-year-old Andre Williams of Harcourt, Iowa admitted to police that he was trying to steal a truck when the owner of the truck opened fire. Williams is facing felony theft and damage to property charges. Williams has a court appearance scheduled for Nov. 4.

The owner of the truck Williams was stealing pleaded not guilty to assault and reckless discharge of a firearm. 38-year-old James Vinton says he was just ‘standing his ground’ trying to protect his property and scare off the thief when he opened fire hitting the perpatrator.
