Minnesota’s first-in-the-nation COVID-19 school testing program working to keep kids safe

Minnesota’s first-in-the-nation COVID-19 school testing program is working to keep kids safe. The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) has received applications for COVID-19 school testing program grant funds from 86% of school districts, charter schools and tribal schools, with a nearly $50 million request for staffing, test kits and personal protective equipment. This school year, COVID-19 health and safety plans were created at the local level by school boards and school leaders.
