Customers at the Hy-Vee in Albert Lea had to be evacuated when a car caught fire Saturday afternoon. According to Albert Lea Fire Rescue, first responders were dispatched near Hy-Vee Food Store on Bridge Avenue and found the vehicle engulfed in flames near the east side of the store. Fire crews say patrons were ushered to safety as crews worked to put out the fire. Albert Lea Fire Rescue says their investigation found that the vehicle’s engine had a mechanical failure that led to the fire. No one was injured in the incident.
