Judge ruled against Interchange Wine & Coffee Bistro in COVID safely violation case

A district court judge ruled against the The Interchange Wine & Coffee Bistro Tuesday in the civil case filed by the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. The owner was ordered to pay $18,000 in civil penalties after a lengthy court battle that centered around allegations her business stayed open in violation of state executive orders banning in-person dining to slow the spread of COVID-19, which the judge said put at risk the safety of the community. A pretrial hearing os set for Nov. 24 with a jury trial to follow Dec. 6.
