(ABC 6 News) – Austin Police could soon be gearing up with body cams. The police chief said they’d welcome the addition, but the cost of the cameras will have to be worked into the budget and approved by the city council. The city council already approved the 2022 budget, he said there’s a chance the department won’t see body cameras in the Austin Police Department until 2023.
