MASON CITY – The man facing murder charges in neighboring Mason City will appear in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. 28-year-old Dominick Degner is accused of killing his girlfriend Dec. 17, at a residence on North Tennessee Avenue September 7th and then setting the home that the two shared on fire to cover up the crime. He is being held on a total of $1 million bond and faces life in prison.
