Wells City Council approved body-worn-cameras for officers

The Wells City Council has approved a policy for the use of body-worn-cameras (BWCs) by officers of the Wells Police Department. The 11-page document had prior public hearings before its final adoption by the council. According to the policy, the primary purpose of using BWCs is to capture evidence from police-citizen encounters. The department has ordered a total of six cameras, one for each of the full-time officers and one extra, a release states.
