Austin Police are investigating after a report of possible gunshots near an elementary school in northwest Austin Thursday afternoon. According to a statement from the Chief of Police officers responded to the 600 block of 9th St. NW near the school campus, but did not locate any damage, victims, or shell casings. He said, witnesses who heard something didn’t actually see anything that could help, as investigators piece together what happened. The elementary school went into a brief lockdown as a safety precaution, the release states, until police gave the all clear.
