Snow is expected to blanket the Albert Lea area this week. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Monday night, as the weather agency stated a total snow accumulation of 2 to 3 inches is expected with locally higher amounts possible. Commuters should plan on slippery road conditions, as widespread blowing snow could reduce visibility. And make sure you bundle up! Wind chills as low as 20 below zero are also forecast, which could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. The advisory is in effect throught midnight Tuesday.
