NORTHWOOD, Iowa – It took several crews to contain a fire at a two-story apartment building in Worth County Monday. The Northwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company said mutual aid was brought in from multiple surrounding communities to battle the blaze that shut down Central Ave. from 5th St. N. to 7th St. N., before the fire was extinguished several hours later. The gutted building was being torn down.
No injuries were reported.
