Austin Utilities is looking for community feedback concerning gas pipeline safety. To comply with federal regulations, Austin Utilities will be conducting a telephone survey beginning today [April 25] to determine if their efforts to educate those who live along the pipeline about the safe use of gas have been successful.
Residents should expect survey calls over the next two weeks or until the required sampling rate is met.
The surveys are done as a way to reduce pipeline accidents, which are often attributable to digging by homeowners, contractors, and farmers.
