Commuters warned to expect delays as Highway 52 project gets underway

Zumbrota, Mn – A major highway project that was postponed a couple of weeks due to inclement weather is set to get underway Thursday and motorists are being advised to expect some traffic delays on Highway 52 between Zumbrota [zuhm bro tuh] and Cannon Falls. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says those traffic delays are most likely to occur in the construction zones during the morning, afternoon and evening commute, and on weekends. The project will restrict traffic to a single lane in each direction along sections of the busy corridor over the next seven months. MnDOT also says access to Highway 52 from several township roads in the construction zone will be closed permanently as part of the safety improvement project.
