ALBERT LEA, Minn. – A Freeborn County man accused of assaulting and robbing a woman he’d been dating for a few weeks was sentenced Thursday. A judge ordered, Jordon Allen VanRyswyk, 34, of Albert Lea, to five years of supervised probation for the May 2020 incident in which the 34 year old punched the woman in the face, breaking a tooth, before kicking her and stealing $50. The theft charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal.
