Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) – A traffic stop in Austin early Sunday morning led to a fiery crash and the arrest of an Austin man. Austin Police officials say it all began around 3:20am Sunday when the officer attempted to pull over a pickup but the driver sped away, promptine a brief police chase that ended when the suspect crashed into a tree and the truck burst into flames. Deputies were able to pull the driver from the burning truck, and the 23-year-old was taken to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Austin. A news release says the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
