Albert Lea’s City Council votes on special session

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (KTTC) – Albert Lea’s City Council unanimously voted to call on the state legislature to hold a special session, after a bonding bill was not passed. Councilman Larry Baker said that the city has several projects that need bonding money, or else Albert Lea residents would see their property taxes increase, whihc could drive businesses out of Albert Lea. A project Baker alluded to in particular was updating the city’s wastewater treatment plant, at a cost of somewhere around $60 millionover the next ten years.
