Trial date set for Kiester man in connection to fuel theft and high speed chase

A trial date has been set for a Kiester man who has pleaded not guilty to leading law enforcement on a high speed chase. Deputies responded Sept. 1 to a report of someone stealing $27 worth of fuel from Lakeside Gas Station in Crystal Lake and officers spotted the vehicle on Highway 18, prompting a police pursuit that ended when the suspect got stuck in traffic and was apprehended. James Orlando Alexander, 43, is now set to stand trial beginning October 26th.
