Albert Lea teen found dead at city railroad crossing

ABC 6 News) – An Albert Lea teen was found dead at a city railroad crossing late Tuesday night. According to the police department, officers responded to the Union Pacific railroad crossing near the intersection of Garfield Ave. and Ramsey St. for a report that an individual had been run over by the train. The train was approaching the crossing when the crew observed a person laying across the tracks and tried to stop, but were unsuccessful.
Albert Lea police say they located a 16-year-old boy who attended Albert Lea high school. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
