Austin City Council approved funds for multiple infrastructure projects

The Austin City Council approved funds for multiple infrastructure projects during their Monday meeting. Council members voted unanimously to put $700,000 toward an addition and remodeling project at the Austin Public Library, including a new service desk, study rooms, renovations of the building’s bathrooms, and security upgrades. And a $12,000 request from the city’s Public Works Department was approved to pay for a consultant to assist in the initial design for a $4.3 million sanitary sewer collection system project and the reconstruction of 10 blocks of streets in Austin. The three phase project is set to start in the summer of 2023.
