Bathroom rights at a new elementary school are being questioned. According to an online publication by a far right network, the new Owatonna High School currently under construction does not have gender specific restrooms, but the Superintendent confirmed that there will be boys and girls restrooms included in the design of the new local high school, as well as gender-neutral facilities which he noted are in all of the current schools in the Owatonna School District. Construction of the new Owatonna High School is expected to be completed in summer 2023, opening for students that fall.
