California man convicted on drug trafficking charges in Austin sentenced

AUSTIN, Minn. – A California man convicted on drug trafficking charges stemming from a traffic stop in Austin has been sentenced. Marcos Darrel Brito pleaded guilty to first-degree drug possession and was sentenced to five years and five months in prison, with credit for 119 days already served. The 35 year old was a passenger in a vehicle driven by, Madeline Marie Young, 37 of Austin, that was pulled over on Oakland Avenue on May 5 in which Investigators found meth, marijuana, fentanyl, and THC wax. Young has also pleaded guilty to second-degree drug possession and DWI. Her sentencing is set for November 16.
