Potential threat sends North Iowa Community School District into lockdown

A potential threat Tuesday afternoon sent the North Iowa Community School District into a lockdown. Authorities said a threatening call was made to the school and students were moved into safe spaces while the investigation took place. Once the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and school faculty determined the call was made by a juvenile student and there was no ongoing threat classes resumed. The call may have been intended as a prank, but the district and law enforcement emphasized that any threat made will be taken seriously, and there will be appropriate consequences based on the actions.
