$100,000 bond set for Spring Valley man facing felony assault charge

MOWER COUNTY, Minn. – A $100,000 bond has been set for a Spring Valley man facing a felony assault charge. Kainun Thorson allegedly followed a man and his family while reaching speeds around 90 miles per hour before he displayed a knife toward the victim. Court documents state Thorson and the victim knew each other. In addition to the assault charge, he’s also facing charges of third-degree damage to property, after police say he damaged a squad car while enroute to jail.
