(ABC 6 News) – Veterans in Albert Lea are working to enhance the Freeborn County Freedom Rock. Albert Lea American Legion Post 56 placed a Freedom Rock next to the Albert Lea Veteran Memorial outside of the Government Center, and now they’re looking to raise an estimated 25 to 30 thousand dollars to afford an artist to paint the rock, improve the landscaping and build a shelter for the rock. The group hopes to raise enough money to have everything completed by the end of the summer.
