Austin woman recieved back to back sentences for 2022 attempted robbery and 2021 fraud case

An Austin woman recieved back to back sentences for a 2022 attempted robbery and a 2021 fraud case. A Mower County District Court judge ordered Carlena Chavon Thomas on Friday to serve 17 days in jail in connection to the February 24th, 2022 attempted robbery of the Freedom gas station on 4th St. NW. The 40-year-old was also convicted and sentenced Friday to a year of probation for a gross misdemeanor charge of financial transaction card fraud, stemming from an incident that took place in Austin on October 5th, 2021. Thomas pleaded guilty to both charges in September.
