Albert Lea woman accused in a 2021 drug overdose case pleads not guilty

Preston, MN (KROC-AM News) – An Albert Lea woman accused of supplying a lethal dose of narcotics that resulted in a drug overdose two years ago entered not guilty pleas Monday. 50-year-old Jeanne Penhollow is facing third-degree murder stemming from the February 2, 2021 death of her sister, who Penhollow said she gave pain pills to for her back pain, according to a criminal complaint. An autopsy determined her death was caused by the toxic effects of fentanyl and oxycodone. Her trial on two counts of third-degree murder and two felony charges involving drug sales is set to begin the end of June.
