FBI joins investigation after possible bomb making materials found in Faribault home

FARIBAULT, Minn. — The FBI is now assisting with an ongoing investigation after materials potentially used to create bombs were found in a southern Minnesota home Friday. The Faribault Police Department says officers responded to a family disturbance at a residence on 1st Street Northwest where it was determined an 18-year-old at the home was suffering from a mental health crisis. While evaluating the situation, officers noticed what is believed to be explosive materials. FPD says it is working with state and federal law enforcement in the incident.
