Residents are being warned about a funeral home scam targeting people who have recently lost loved ones. A company called Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes shared details of this scam on Facebook recently (January 25), saying the ruse involves someone pretendeding to be from the funeral home, posing as an employee who tries to get personal information about the deceased in an identity theft scam. If you get a call like this, hang up and call the funeral home directly, or your local police department.
