A March snowstorm could drop up to ten inches of snow on southwestern Minnesota. The National Weather Service has placed most of southern Minnesota under a Winter Storm Watch, effective Thursday through Friday morning in Albert Lea and surrounding areas, including Faribault County and the Mankato area. Gusty winds up to 30 mph will create blowing snow, making for hazardous driving conditions and poor visibility for evening commuters.
