Snow and ice-covered roads are being blamed for a crash on Highway 218 in Steele County that claimed the life of an Owatonna man. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened Tuesday near Owatonna when two vehicles collided headon, killing Terry Jon Pelovsky, 59. The other driver, identified as, Becky Linn Schwering, 58, of Claremont, was taken to Owatonna Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A patrol crash report says alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and notes that roads were slipery at the time of the crash.
