From contamination to construction, the Albert Lea City Council voted to approve additional housing be built on the Blazing Star Landing property, which is the former Farmland Foods plant. 48 multi-family housing units already have been developed, and now, a second larger apartment building with 96 additional units is planned on the site. The apartments are known as the Front Street Apartments. Construction is expected to get underway in 2024.
