Albert Lea man is facing charges in traffic stop turned drug bust

An Albert Lea man is facing drug charges after he was allegedly found with methamphetamine during a traffic stop in the city on Saturday. Oziel Valdez appeared in Freeborn County District Court Monday on two counts of drug possession and one count of illegal possession of a firearm, stemming from the traffic stop in which officers confiscated a loaded gun and 36 grams of meth. The 49 year old remains jailed on $200,000 bail.
