(ABC 6 News) – An employee at an Austin care home for children with emotional and behavioral issues was fired after allegedly punching a 17-year-old patient in the face in February. The teen reportedly was trying to run away from the Nexus-Gerard Family Healing facility in Austin when a staff member tackled them to the ground and punched them twice in the left eye, according to the Minnesota Department of Human Services. The staff member was not charged or arrested, but has been terminated by the facility.
