ALBERT LEA, Minn. – A Fairbault County woman arrested last year on drug and weapons charges has accepted a plea deal. Veronica Nicole Garcia, 29, of Wells, pleaded guilty first-degree drug possession, and charges linked to a stolen gun will likely be dismissed as part of the plea agreement when Garcia is sentenced on July 20 in Freeborn County. The charges stem from a traffic stop on Newton Avenue in Albert Lea September 15, 2022, when a deputy recognized Garcia was wanted on an outstanding warrant and officers confiscated a handgun reported stolen out of Wilmar and about 34 grams of methamphetamine.
