UPDATE – HENRY COUNTY, Va. – We’re learning more about a two-vehicle crash in Henry County over the Memorial Day weekend that left two people dead, and a child hospitalized. Authorities said in an update Monday that 53-year-old Denise Anne Cabrera-Cruz, apparently lost control of her vehicle on Blackberry Road near Foley Drive, crossed the center line and hit a vehicle head-on Sunday (May 28). Cruz and the other driver, 22-year-old Kateland Ann McKinney, were killed in the crash, according to State Police reports. There was also a passenger, who has been identified as an 8-year-old boy, in the vehicle who was seriously injured, VSP said. The crash remains under investigation.
