Owatonna man sentenced in 2020 laundromat vandalism in Freeborn County

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – An Owatonna man has been sentenced in connection to a string of laundromat thefts and vandalism in Freeborn County in 2020. Russell Christopher Bailey pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal damage to property in march, after investigators say the 50 year old used a crowbar and a screwdriver to try and pry open the coin boxes on several washing machines and dryers at Maytag Laundry and Express Laundry in Albert Lea causing thousands of dollars in damage. He was sentenced Friday to two years of supervised probation and ordered to pay more than $12,000 in restitution, court documents state.
