ALBERT LEA, Minn. – A 24-year-old Austin man is facing a homicide charge for the death of his girlfriend’s two-year-old. Police responded to an apartment complex Thursday on James Ave., after a report that a toddler fell down the steps and was unresponsive, and learned the mother’s boyfriend was caring for the child while she was at work when the incident happened. An autopsy concluded that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death was homicide. Austin Navarro was arrested and is being held on a $1M bond.
